Pets in Loot Legends are an extraordinary source of extra power and utility that can help you immensely in battle. They also help you acquire skill points and pet fragments through the Pet Adventures feature. So how do Pet Adventures work?
What are Pet Adventures?
Pet Adventures are a feature where you can send your pets on timed quests and in return gain pet experience and acquire rewards such as Gold, Biscuits, Skill Points or Pet Fragments. Skill Points can be used to upgrade your character’s skills or your pet’s skills. Pet Fragments can be used to acquire new pets or promote existing ones.
Pet Adventure tasks refresh at 5PM everyday, so make sure to do them everyday to level up your pets faster and acquire juicy rewards!
Rewards
Tasks vary in time to complete, Pet EXP earned, and rewards. Longer tasks typically yield more Pet EXP and better rewards.
Each Adventure has a possibility of two rewards, a “Task Reward” and an “Extra Reward”. Acquiring these rewards is based on a varied percentage chance of success, with the second reward being much tougher to acquire due to its increased yield or reward rarity. The Extra Rewards tier will often give you a 2x yield on Skill Points or a Pet Fragment.
Possible Rewards
- Gold
- Skill Points
- Biscuits
- Pet Fragments
Mechanics
So if you have been doing Pet Adventures or haven’t gotten to play Loot Legends yet, you may be wondering is the % chance of success for rewards RNG or strategy? Well it seems like it’s both – but mostly strategy.
The core mechanic here is you want to use Pets that match or “negate” the features of the opposing enemy/enemies. In the screenshot below, you’ll see I have selected Thor as my pet for this task, but Thor only has the “Piercing” feature, and the enemy has the “Cold Resist” feature.
Because these features do not match, you’ll see the percentage of success on the Extra Reward is only 35%. While 35% isn’t abysmal, it is certainly not ideal especially if the Extra Reward is a rare pet fragment or high yield rewards. You’ll want to either choose another pet for this task that has the “Cold Resist” feature, or just yolo it on your highest percentage pet.
Now in this screenshot below, you’ll see I selected the Llama pet which has the “Cold Resist” feature and bumps the Extra Reward to 100%! You can also see the “Cold Resist” on the enemy is now crossed out.
One-click Automation
Loot Legends gives a lot of automation across it’s systems, including Pet Adventures. Instead of manually finding and placing your best pets for a specific task, you can click the “One-click” button and it will automatically select the best pet for the task!
In the video below, you’ll see if I click the “One-click” button, it will automatically place the Llama pet. You can then “Start” the task and wait for the rewards!
One-click is a quick and efficient way of sending out your pets on Tasks, however it can be problematic if you have a lot of multi-pet tasks and not enough pets or promoted pets.
Since “One-click” allows the game to automatically select your best pets for the task, I find it can sometimes be too optimized, especially if I have multiple other tasks I want to do.
Scenario:
As you play Loot Legends, you’ll encounter tons of RNG from obtaining Pet Fragments from Premium/Daily Boxes, dungeon drops etc. So everybody is going to have different pets, more or less promotions, pet levels, and more. You’ll see some low level players with Legendary pets while you’re still rockin’ the Llama – RNG babyyy!
So how does this relate to one-clicking on Pet Adventures?
I’m glad you asked. So my RNG was heavily weighted towards the Bomb Rat pet. I got many fragments from the Daily/Premium box rolls, Pet Adventures, and dungeon drops. So the Bomb Rat for me has the most promotions, therefore more “Features”. So the Bomb Rat is a very high-priority pet for difficult Tasks as it can negate more opposing enemy features at once. If I randomly select a Task and One-click it and the game automatically selects the Bomb Rat and other pets, I will most likely get a 100% success for bot rewards. Awesome, that works.
However, that’s only one task of many others. If my Bomb Rat is automatically chosen but only one of the three features I have on it were useful for that task, then the Bomb Rat may have been better suited for a different task.
Now say I sent the Bomb Rat out on that task, but then I see a 2nd task that has enemies with 2 or 3 features that only my Bomb Rat has, then no matter what pets I choose to send out on that task, it will most likely be a low percentage success rate unless I have other pets with matching features.
It’s kind of hard to explain. But this is where a balancing of act of Manual vs. One-click comes into play for me. In this scenario, I would have preferred to use my Bomb Rat on the 2nd task to achieve a high %Success, and sacrificed a 100% success rate on the 1st task for an 80% success rate by switching out the Bomb Rat.
This is really a bigger problem with patience as well not having a lot of pets or promotions. If you log in multiple times a day, you can simply one-click every task and then wait for the task to complete so you can send those same pets on another task. This can be the most optimized way of playing, because for each task you’ll have the most pets at your disposal.
However, sometimes you might not have the time to micromanage your tasks throughout the day and just want to start as many tasks as possible right away. You’ll find that this becomes a tradeoff of maximizing % chance of reward success and being able to save time.
So if you want to send out all your tasks and call it a day, Manual placement of pets and trying to optimize %Success chance for each is probably a better way to go. Aiming for a 70% threshold is a good way to go about it.
Completing a Task
Task completed! Once your task is completed, you can claim your rewards. In the Llama example, I had a 100% success rate for both rewards, so you will see I received both with no prayer involved.
This is where you’ll see if you that risk on a 35% completion was worth it or not. RNG baby!
Do Your Tasks!
Pet Adventures are crucial to leveling up your pets, acquiring new ones, and getting rewards. Make sure to do them as much as possible! Pets are extremely useful in combat as they can dish out a ton of damage or support you. Levelling their skills and promoted them to acquire more features is vital to your success in Loot Legends.
